 Strange EVP at the Adelaide Gaol - Thoughts? (23 Replies, Read 949 times)

Remember.. Growing Old is Mandatory, Growing up is Optional! 		Having left voice recorders in the New Building of the Gaol, when nobody was present, we captured a sound that was familiar to us.  At this stage we ARE NOT claiming this is anything.  However we do find it intriguing.  Now, we are putting it up here to see if it is familiar to anybody else OR whether we are just getting audio pareidolia.  Either way, have fun trying to have a guess as to what it sounds like.

You will hear a very loud click first then if you wait a second or two a couple more distant ones.

We will eventually let you know our thoughts.

We will be going in tomorrow and will try to recreate this sound.

Remember.. Growing Old is Mandatory, Growing up is Optional! 		No Spils you can't!!  You would cheat, you insider you. lol

We have been back to the Gaol and done some more experiments to try and recreate this sound, so I will hopefully put up the follow up video soon... until then people don't be shy!!!!  This isn't a trick question.. no wrong or right answers here.  We would genuinely like to know your thoughts on this one. :)

Remember.. Growing Old is Mandatory, Growing up is Optional! 		Well we have set up experiments since and recreated this sound.  It turns out it is impossible for us to have caught this sound where we did, as the apparent cause of it isn't there anymore and hasn't been since the Gaol shut down in 1988.  I am just working on a follow up video for you (yes I am useless at knowing how to put straight sound files up lol).  But it will be revealed soon :)  Until then still feel free to guess.

Well now that I have a working sound card again:-

I think it sounds like a hard object being bounced off the floor, something like a billiard ball or similar.
Interesting how it taper's off into the distance, I would have thought that if it was a naturally occurring sound, it would have remained static?

Feel ...Vibrate...Attract 		I personally didnt hear an EVP as such but I mostly agree with the comments on the youtube page. Sounds like a broom hitting the floor or possibly an electrical pop of some sort. Keeping in mind that a sound alone is not evidence of a ghost present.

Ahhh how right you are and why no claims are ever made by PFI on that score.  We have a curiosity though, which is why we wanted views on what it sounds like.  All that can be done is collect the data, dismiss what we can, recreate circumstances and talk about what we are left with.  At best we are left with something that we can't explain YET.  Doesn't mean that down the track we won't find the explanation, as we have done in the past, and been happy to back peddle on our data.  People will always make up their own minds at the end of the day.  And technically you are right again Splatter... the word EVP probably isn't quite correct in this case since it isn't a voice.  Maybe this one should be termed Electronic 'Noise' Phenomena :P.

Feel ...Vibrate...Attract 		I am glad you picked up on that Alison. Unless someone did hear a voice? I didnt enhance and filter the sound myself. Yes you have been known to change your findings on data in the past through a deeper analysis :)

Sometimes the projected sounds seem just as interesting as the recorded voices.  One evening while we were at "Ghost Magnet's" residence, Mike Dion picked up a recording of what sounded like a metal pipe dropping and clattering upon a cement floor, although nothing had dropped and there were only wooden floors where we were recording.

Earlier that evening we were conducting a group EVP session inside of G.M.' s bedroom, and G.M. was having an attack of gastronitis.  She repeatedly had to explain, "That wasn't a demon growing, that was me."

Also that evening, I'd left my tape recorder recording in her son's bedroom (he wasn't home that night), and picked up an EVP saying "Want out."

How is Gm  feeling bet the sounds sounded great once you got them on puter .Lol as least you  realised it was her
